He grabbed her by the shoulders and began to shake her. Maria then raised her hand and slapped him. He hit her, once, twice, not even Maria remembers and then he threw her with force on the bed. He leaned over her for a moment as she feared he would suffocate her. They began to fight, two wild beasts ready to tear each other apart. Eventually his face came very close to hers as they looked at each other with fiery eyes, and then he leaned over and kissed her. She bit his lip and Maria gasped. She felt a chill wash through the body. She could not remembee the last time she felt like this.
The priest had a nice voice, she loved hearing him chant the Liturgy. She closed her eyes and began to chant along with him in a low voice. It was as if there was no one beside her now. Communicating with God, so she felt. She did not go to Church often due to work. A day like this though, she would never miss.
She stayed with her eyes closed listening to the chants as nothing would bother her now. Not Vaso nor Anthony nor any of the gossip circulating around her. This was her life and she would not give it to them for nothing.
